1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how the ELYRA Horizon website uses browser storage and optional external content. It describes the implementation you encounter here rather than a general list of advertising technologies. Understanding the difference between a local preference and an external service request can help you make choices that reflect your comfort level. You can reopen the preference panel from the Cookie Settings control in the footer of every page.
2. Understanding Cookies
A cookie is a small record that a website can ask your browser to store and send with later requests. LocalStorage is a different browser feature that stores information for a particular website without automatically adding it to each request. People often discuss these together as similar technologies. ELYRA uses localStorage for its own preferences. External services, when loaded, can use their own mechanisms under their separate policies.
3. Types of Cookies
The preference panel organises choices into necessary, functional, analytics and marketing categories. These labels explain the purpose associated with a choice; they do not mean that a service exists in every category. On this website, age and privacy preferences are necessary local records, and functional permission controls requested map embeds. Analytics and marketing controls save a preference only. There are no installed scripts performing analytics measurement or advertising tracking.
4. Essential Cookies
Two localStorage keys support essential choices. The key elyra-age records an affirmative adult-age confirmation. The key elyra-consent records the selected categories and the time of the latest saved choice. Neither stores your contact form message or payment information. These records prevent repeated prompts and help the site apply your preferences. They are local to the browser and website origin where you made the choice, rather than being a central customer profile.
5. Functional Cookies
Functional permission is used for Google Maps. A map does not load simply because you open a hotel location section. Use the Load City Map button when you want to see one. If functional permission has not been given, the preference panel opens so you can decide whether to enable it. Saving that choice allows the requested map to load. You can leave the map unloaded and read the written city and contact details instead.
6. Analytics Cookies
The analytics category is available as a preference control, but no analytics provider, visitor event pipeline or measurement script is installed. Turning it on stores your selection and does not start tracking. Turning it off records that you do not consent to that category. The website does not use this switch to build visitor profiles, measure purchases or follow activity across other websites. A future analytics implementation would require an updated explanation of what is being introduced.
7. Marketing Cookies
No advertising pixels, remarketing tags or affiliate tracking scripts are included in the site. The marketing toggle records a preference for that category without loading a service. Accepting it does not subscribe you to email promotions or share your enquiry with an advertiser through a website feature. You can reject marketing while continuing to read the website, use its navigation and submit a hospitality enquiry when the delivery service is available.
8. Third-Party Technologies
Google Fonts provides the selected typefaces through stylesheet and font-file requests. These ordinary resource requests can reveal technical connection information such as your IP address and browser details to Google. They are not controlled by the optional map switch, and the website does not use them for its own analytics. Fonts can fall back to system alternatives if unavailable. The local images, stylesheet and JavaScript otherwise belong to the website's own asset collection.
9. Google Maps
Requested map embeds show the appropriate city area rather than claiming to verify a specific property address. Once you permit functional content and request a map, your browser connects to Google, which can process connection information and apply its own technologies. Google's practices are described in its Privacy Policy. An alternative external map link opens Google Maps separately, which is also governed by Google's terms and privacy practices.
10. Cookie Lifetimes
The website's two localStorage preferences do not have an automatic expiry timer in this implementation. They remain until changed or removed through browser controls, subject to any storage-clearing behaviour of your device. Private browsing may discard them when the private session ends. Third-party cookie lifetimes are controlled by the service setting them. ELYRA does not assign or promise an expiry period for Google's own cookies or other records on Google's domains.
11. User Consent
The banner appears when no saved cookie preference is available and after the age prompt has been resolved. You can accept all optional categories, reject them or open the settings to make separate choices. The necessary records remain enabled because they support the age gate and the consent interface. A saved choice is specific to the current browser and website origin; a different device or browser may need its own selection.
12. Managing Preferences
Open Cookie Settings from the footer to review the categories at any time. The controls restore your saved selections, and Save Preferences applies the choices currently shown. The functional map control has an immediate effect on any loaded map frames when permission is withdrawn. Analytics and marketing selections remain inactive service preferences because no corresponding tools are installed. You do not have to accept optional categories to use the main content or contact links.
13. Accepting Cookies
Accept All enables functional, analytics and marketing category preferences and records the time of the choice. It does not automatically load every map on a page: a map still requires your request. Nor does it introduce analytics or advertising software that is absent from the website. Accepting optional categories does not confirm a hotel booking, agree to gambling participation or provide permission for unrelated use of information sent through an enquiry.
14. Rejecting Optional Cookies
Reject Optional saves all three optional categories as disabled. The age confirmation and consent choice remain available as necessary local records. Map frames already loaded on the current page are removed when functional permission is withdrawn. Written hotel descriptions, phone links, email links and the main navigation continue to work. You can later return to the panel to change an individual category without needing to reset every browser setting or start a new visit.
15. Withdrawing Consent
You can withdraw a previously given optional permission through Cookie Settings by switching it off and saving, or by selecting Reject Optional. This stops the website's corresponding future loading behaviour and removes active map embeds. It does not undo a request that already reached Google or erase cookies held on another organisation's domain. To remove those records, use the controls supplied by that organisation or the appropriate settings in your browser.
16. Browser Controls
Most browsers let you inspect site data, block certain cookies or clear localStorage and other records. The exact options depend on your browser and device version. Clearing this website's site data removes the remembered age confirmation and consent preference, so the prompts may appear again. Blocking storage can have a similar effect. On a shared device, consider whether another person's choices or signed-in third-party sessions may influence what you see when external content opens.
17. Security Considerations
Preference records are not passwords and do not authenticate a person. The age confirmation is a local declaration, not a verified identity check. Avoid using a shared or untrusted browser for sensitive correspondence, and do not send payment card information through the enquiry form. The website does not store message contents in localStorage. If you want to review technical details, browser developer tools can show the records associated with the website and the network requests made when you load a map.
18. Policy Updates
This policy should change if the implementation introduces a new provider or a different storage purpose. The revision date identifies the information presented here. A saved preference is not a substitute for clear disclosure about a future service, especially if its purpose differs from what is described now. Check this page when you return if you want to understand any changes, and use the settings panel to review the category choices currently stored in your browser.
19. Contact Information
For questions about cookies, local preferences or the site's external content, email [email protected] or telephone +61 8 5550 2840.
